Sign 2 Music offers workshops and regular classes to nurseries, day care and child care centres.
Nurseries are increasingly choosing to incorporate signing into their daily routines. They find that this helps facilitate communication, reduce noise levels and aggressive behaviour, eg, biting.
Signing is also invaluable for children with speech delay and disabilities, including autism and down syndrome.
Using signs also helps a child learn colours, numbers and the alphabet as it demonstrates the concept, not only verbally, but visually and kinaesthetically also. Sign language has been shown to improve vocabulary, reading and spelling, self esteem and comfort with expressing emotions.
